Something came over me today.
I decided to try and save $60+tip on another brazilian wax and instead marched down to Walgreens and buy this wax kit for $11.99, marked down to $8.99. (<--- That should be your first sign on the quality of a product.)
I will tell you four things:
1. It is NOT, in any way, a relief for your "ouch". Do not be deceived by Sally's advertising ploy like I was.
2. I now see why people pay $60+tip to just get it done and over with and not be left with a sticky, waxy mess in areas that should be sticky, waxy mess free.
3. The Dizzle saw me in some very compromising positions today that I know will never be erased from his memory. I'm not entirely proud of this, but I guess you can say we have moved our relationship up to a whole new level of comfortability.
4. I am now left with a bruise in a very interesting area.
And now you know my thoughts on at-home waxing. You're welcome.
The end.
xoxo

It's a pretty terrible experience. I tried this and forgot to put my hair in a bun...so while bending at some interesting angles my hair got caught in the wax. Never, never again.
ReplyDeleteSo the happy I'm not in an pain lady on the front was deceiving? Lol
ReplyDeleteI've attempted to wax my legs at home and quit after that first riiiip. You are one brave lady to do your first attempt around your...ya know.... Waxing scares me! I'd like to just have all my hair lasered off. I'd also like someone else to pay for it :)
Ah, well. THANK YOU FOR THIS. I was about to go buy an "at home" kit sometime soon, actually...maybe not. Haha. Thank goodness for me it's only $35 and NZ doesn't do tips! Hooray!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, yikes! I definitely am taking this off of my maybe I might try this list!
ReplyDeleteyou went to the Nth degree with your relationship hahahaha...
ReplyDeleteI just wrote a whole "splurge or save" post the other day after my quick tryst with at-home waxing this past weekend. Thankfully I eased into it (sort of) by doing my legs first. The first one was alright. The second leg - lets just say it's still hairy and patches of my skin are still visibly discolored.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I used Sally's "Spa" wax - I can assure you it felt nothing like a day at the spa.

Your bravery in attempting this ASTOUNDS me.
ReplyDeleteI tried to do the same thing! I was trying to save the $40/month I spend on waxing the hoo-hah by doing it myself…it was a nightmare. It left a big sticky mess and actually removed zero hair. I'll just keep paying the $40 because it's just much better to have someone else torture you haha.
ReplyDeleteWow! You are brave. Very, very brave.
ReplyDeleteYeah... not your brightest idea lol. I would check out groupon or living social for some brazilian waxing deals though, i seem to find a few those on the regular in Mississippi - and we have it, surely you do! lol. I've waxed my sisters legs before (it was hilarious) and I have small little wax strips that you rub between your fingers to warm up and I use those for my face (in between my eyebrows and sometimes I have a faint stash above the right side of my lip (weird, I know) haha. Don't make that mistake again though - I haven't tried it.... but for good reason!

ReplyDeleteI've only gotten waxed professionally once...Personally I can't bring myself to spend so much money for something like that! I usually just groom myself. I used to wax but have gotten lazy and just use trimmers now really. But I loved using the Nair waxing strips! Those were my fave.
ReplyDeleteToo much of a wimp to do at home waxing, even professional waxing. Just groom with trimmers or use Nair creams (which I don't even recommend because it's not smooth whatsoever).
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. Poor Dizzle. He'll never be the same.
