So then I woke up at midnight to do Zumba.

I can assure you that if you're dating me, you'll never have a dull moment. Right, Boo? Right?

For example, last night, The Dizzle had every intention of me coming home, soaked in sweat from my cycling class that I told him I was planning on going to. But instead, my cycling class somehow turned into 3 glasses of wine at happy hour, which then led me to the corner market to buy food for a Mexican feast at home!

Surprise!!

By the way, a Mexican feast = 1 chicken breast, 1 bag of tortilla chips, 1 tub of salsa, and a can of pinto beans.

Oh, and an avocado.

Sooo....I've really got the whole "Mexican Feast" down, apparently.

Anyway, after eating the lovely Mexican feast that I put together for my man (aka threw the chicken on the George Foreman and heated up the beans on the stove), I was dead asleep promptly at 10:00pm. Some feast, eh?

So then midnight rolled around.

And the strangest thing happened. Well, I guess it's not that strange for me. But ANYWAY, I woke up at midnight with a song in my head.

It was a song in Spanish. To which I don't know the words.

And I thought....what is this song that I am singing in my head and where did it come from? What do these Spanish words mean and why am I singing them?

Then it dawned on me!

It was a song that is played every week at my Zumba class!

It goes a little something like this:

(Insert any Mexican-themed tune): Adumba dee dah, dumba dumba dee dah heyyyy...dun! dun! dun! dun! ...doot doo doo HEY! doot doo doo HEY! Doot doo doooooo. Doo! Doo! Doo doo! Doot doo doo HEY! Doot doo doo HEY!

And so on.

So there I am, wide awake at midnight, with this song running through my head! And I look over, and lo and behold, The Dizzle is still awake!

So what do I do next?

Why, I get up out of bed and say with urgency and excitement, "Hey Boo....I need to show you something!" (Perhaps it was around this moment that I realized the wine could very well have still been coursing through my system at full speed.)

So there, in our little studio apartment, next to our bed, at midnight, I sing my Spanish Zumba song while performing the choreography, of course.

Now, to give you a visual, every time the song says "HEY!", you lift a knee up with a little pop in your step! It really works wonders for your legs and abs, I tell ya.

Here's a gif that doesn't really look anything like what I was doing, but well... actually.... it very well could have looked exactly like what I was doing come to think of it...

Anyway, I got about 30 seconds into my routine and The Dizzle had to go and shut the party down!

He told me to get back in bed and go to sleep!

Whomp whooooomp.

I mean, hellllooooo. I was giving him a private Zumba show! Who wants to stop that?!

Apparently V Dizzle at midnight wants to stop that.

Probably because he was just jealous of my insane dance skills.

So that was my night. And now it's Friday. And I'm happy. And I STILL have that dang song stuck in my head. Looks like I'll have to perform that routine several more times today in order to get it out of my system. Lucky you, Dizzle, lucky you.

And now, a word from my lovely sponsor: Miriam!

Hi Peeps,

Farm Girl here. I did a little intro back in August and Mish invited me back. Hurrah! I love hanging out here! Especially on a Friday. Everybody is excited for the weekend and in a good mood.

What is my blog about?

I love living on a hobby farm, even though I know shockingly little about farming. But animals are hilarious! If you ever wanna see Llamas having sexy time, come on over. (Or click here)

There is also the occasional deep(ish) thought thrown in about love, life and happiness: I'm a total glass half-full kinda person (preferably with wine hehe). I try to see beauty and joy every day, even on the most ordinary of days. And then I blog about it.

One time I tried to find a category for my blog, and failedSo I decided to call it a lifestyle blog and be done with it.

Make my day and visit me? That would rock my world!

You can also find me here: Instagram // Facebook // Pinterest

Have a stellar weekend!

  1. I've had that same song stuck in my head! Except I've only heard it once so I really have no idea how it goes (nor do I remember the routine) and in my mind the words are "zumba zumba, zumbazumba. zumba zumba. doo doot doo hey! doo doot doo hey! zumba zumba!" Also, my butt was kinda sore last night from that class.
