The Weirdos of The World.

Traveling around the world for 6 months, we came across a lot of different people.
We were fortunate to have met so many wonderful people who had a similar love for travel,
and they just got it, you know?

But, today's post is not about them.

Today's post is about all of the weirdos that are out there too.
And well, weirdo-people watching is probably one of my favorite pastimes.

Are you ready for this?

Here. We. Go.

The "Selfie Girls" in Rome. I took about 20 pictures of them. Because that's how long they were doing this for:

The "Justin Beiber Wannabe":

The "Drunk Girl" singing the Titanic theme song at the top of her lungs in Malaga.
And let me tell you. It was rough. But oh-so entertaining.

The many, many "street performers" we saw, like these guys in Madrid:

Or this guy in Amsterdam:

Let's not forget the "Love Birds" on the train in Naples sitting merely one foot in front of me.
If you'd like to see the many other PDA-filled shots I took of them, you may click here.

Here's the Asian guy who refuses to cut his hair no matter how bald he gets.
The longer the better, he says!

Reminds me of a certain someone else...
(cough) Fasha (cough)

Don't get me started on all of the tourists who took their IPADS out as cameras.
I don't know why, but I just find that odd.

Or how about the "Roman Gladiators"?
There was the very realistic Gladiator with his white socks and sandals.
Then there was the very busy Gladiator who was constantly on his cell phone.

And you know anytime "weird" is involved, Asians and their modeling "skillz" have to be included.

Now, now, before you think I'm the worst person in the world for making fun of all these people, just know that I happen to love me some weirdos. This world would be oh so boring without them.
Being weird is the new cool!
In fact, for every weird photo I've posted,
I'm sure I've done just as many or more weird things in the past 6 months.

Like that time I karaoked in Barcelona with a cowboy hat on my head.
I'm sure there were several Spaniards in the audience thinking, "My, that Korean girl with a cowboy hat on is weird."
But was it entertaining? You betcha!

Or that time in Thailand when I realized I sucked balls at pool, so I decided to incorporate two pool sticks and make my own rules.
Did I look weird? Sure.
Did I care? No.

Being weird doesn't have to be a public thing.
Let's talk about the time I got weird and bored in the comfort of our own room.
Hot pink sports bra, sweat pants pulled high, and a side pony tail thrown in for kicks.
I then had The Dizzle take about 100 photos of me posing and prancing all around.
Because I'm weird like that.

Sometimes The Dizzle likes to be weird with me.
Like that time in Bali when we stayed in a fancy hotel and threw on the robes and head turbans.
Then we decided to take a prom-pose picture.
Weird? Yes.
Hilarious? ....at least to us it was, yes.

And lastly, let's talk about when I was the weird girl in Amsterdam who quickly volunteered to go up front on our cheese tour and hold out her hands like a greedy little piggy and stare creepily at the cheese as it was being shredded, awaiting immediate consumption.

So there you have it.
A little dose of weird for your Tuesday.
I hope we can still be friends.
I also hope you can be just as weird as I am, because then that would probably make us best friends.

xoxo

  1. I saw many i pad picture taking tourists in Europe. Hilarious! And we had some love birds sitting outside a restaurant where we were eating in Italy that looked like a statue of two intertwined people. Yes, we took a pic. They make people watching so fun.

  3. Hahaha I adore this post. People watching is one of my favorite things to do and I love all the weirdos out there (and love talking about them). iPad picture taking also drives me CRAZY! Chris and I get weird like you and the Dizzle, too - glad we're not the only ones!

  5. I don't get the ipad people. They're everywhere! We have one and I've never thought to carry it instead of a camera. I tried to take a picture of a cute lovebird couple on the train with my iphone, but the guy caught me so I pretended to take a selfie...so awkward.

  6. I think people who bust out their iPads to take photos just makes me laugh.

  12. The selfies always make me laugh. I don't understand the ipad thing, how does that even seem like a good way to take the picture? Taking weird photos is always fun :) If someone says they aren't weird then they're lying because everybody has a little weird in them!

  25. You're amazing. I always enjoy reading your posts...you have the funniest of stories! The selfies...I don't think I've EVER seen so many people take selfies than I have here in Korea. Maybe Americans are more self conscious about it?

I could comment on all these photos..they're that wonderful! And you do a great job rockin the cowboy hat. They just look stupid on me. :)

  26. first of all, YES YES YES for the Fasha appearance.
second, us asians are sooo damn entertaining to watch.
third, you better frame that turban prom picture.

    ... with a bling frame.

  27. Omg the Naples thing. Having taken that train many times between Naples and Rome (I lived in Naples twice for a total of six years growing up) the awkwardness is already there without the makeout couple. Not sure what it is, but you have no where to go for a while and its hard not to just look at the person across from you. I wear dark shades so I dont feel like I'm looking if in case I do. But add in a makeout couple...oh yes. x

  28. This post is amazing, especially at your sheer joy of cheese being shredded into your hands.

The iPad as camera really confounds me. What in the world are all of these people doing carrying iPads around???

    ReplyDelete
  29. Omggggaw, this had me cracking up!! I've lived in Japan and now in Germany and you are so right...there are some entertaining folks out there! LOVE IT! Thanks for giving me a good laugh!

  30. First of all, your stereotyping Asians is offensive and inappropriate. I mean it is 2013! Don't you know better. JK!! Oh and also, I think you and Dizz should use the prom pic for your 2013 Christmas card!!! You are welcome for the idea :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. HILARIOUS! Oh my gosh. How awesome that you got to go around the world and see all of this weirdness, I'm extremely jealous!

    ReplyDelete
  32. This post has solidified the need for me and ben to come over and be complete weirdos with you.
    Done deal!

  33. WTF is wrong with you, you judgemental cunt? Does it make you feel better about your pathetic self to put other people down. I'd hate to be your age and so damn insecure. You fail at life.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm a total people watcher and weirdo too :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. i do this too...but in my head, LOL, because then *I'd* be the weirdo taking photos of other people doing silly things. I always wonder if other countries think we're all crazy too(I assume this is pretty likely). Life's too short, enjoy all of this stuff. :)

P.S. Lawyer up there--the C word? Such poor taste. I'd be ashamed if I raised you.
