Jungle ZipLining: You know this post wouldn't be complete without a GIF.

Throughout our travels, we've been pretty good about doing only one or two "big" things in each city, as far as tourist attractions go. When you're on a $50-100/day budget, there isn't a whole lot of room to go buck wild every city we hit, knowwhatimean?
But since we only have 20 more days until we are back in America <--say what?!, we've been a bit more lenient and have been trying to soak up as many new experiences as possible.
i.e. Tigers...Tatts...you get the gist.

So yesterday, we ventured out to the jungles of Thailand and geared up for a day of zip-lining.
I've always wanted to do this, so you can imagine my excitement.
In fact, just in case you've always wanted to see an extreme close-up of my "i'm-so-excited" face,
here you are:

You're welcome.

Anyway.

They suited me up first. Purple helmet and all.

Next up, The Dizzle.
And don't worry, he's not "that guy" who likes to wear bandana's just because.
We all had to wear them...
However, seeing him in that yellow harness, complete with a crooked blue helmet, well shoot, I don't know about you, but I found myself getting all hot and bothered.
Maybe it was that "Fireman" vibe he had going on?

I'm pretty sure he was equally turned on by the sexy paunch the harness made in my butt region.

Okay, enough about that.

On to the fun stuff!

There were 26 platforms in total. Mostly zip-lining from tree to tree, but every now and then, they'd throw in a different activity.

Like this rope walk, for example:

Or this bicycle thingamajig that was slightly nerve-wracking:

Then there was the "hey, let's lower you down a hole to the next platform" activity.
That was sort of fun.

And the skateboard...

Followed by the wobbliest bridge in the world that took me an embarrassing amount of time to get across.
Even though you're harnessed in and know you won't fall, let me tell you, it is still scary being so high up!

The little obstacle courses thrown in were fun, but it was definitely the zip lining that made the day memorable.

So now, on to the thing I love doing most:

A GIF.
(You can see more GIFS here, here, herehere, here, and here)

Now doesn't this GIF just make you want to close the screen and massage your temples go zip-lining?!

This was the first course that The Dizzle did.
And if you look closely, you can see that he was putting his legs up in the air.
...To which the instructors quickly shut that fun down and told him to keep his legs down the rest of the day because he was "too big" and putting his legs up made him go too fast. Whoops.

Anyway.

For the last zip line, they let us go together!
Here's a little video in case you're interested in hearing me squeal like a little pansy.

So there you have it!
A super fun day that we highly recommend if you're here in Chiang Mai!
The day, including hotel pick-up/drop-off + lunch, was only $65/person.
There are several companies that do this here, but this one seemed to be the most cost effective!
The company is called Flying Squirrel.

Tonight is our last night here in Chiang Mai. I wish we could stay longer.
But alas, we must head to Bangkok!
Happy Tuesday, friends!

xoxo

  5. We went zip lining in Costa Rica and it was by far my favorite excursion! (Although, very terrifying at moments! I wan't the biggest fan of the "lowering from one platform to another" or whatever they called it.)

  8. I went on a mini zipline back during my trip to China and it was extremely fun! I've been meaning to do an actual ziplining adventure but there's none nearby where I live and not to mention that a lot of my friends are too afraid to try it out.

  16. Ahh so fun! Mike and I went zip lining in Costa Rica, but they didn't have a skateboard or any of those awesome transitions! It was just zip lining to different platforms to the bottom of the mountain. Looks like you two had a blast!
