Maybe I'm just not adventurous enough...

We went to a street market the other night and came across some "Thai delicacies..."
Annnnnd let's just say I've been eating a lot of Pad Thai...A Lot.
{With possibly some McDonald's and Subway thrown in there too.}

There's just something about crunchy bugs and feet that don't seem all that appealing to me.
But hey, maybe it's just me.

...

I hope you have a lovely Monday.
By the time you're reading this, my Monday has come and gone.
I spent the day riding this bad boy around the island, scoping out elephants and waterfalls.
It's not always the easiest thing driving this scooter with a 6'3", 210 pound man on the back,
all the while trying to remember to stay on the left hand side of the road, but today...today I dominated.
{I think the horseback riding helmet they provided really helped with my courage.}

So yeah, maybe I'm not adventurous with the Thai food,
but I sure as heck am adventurous enough to drive with those crazy Asian drivers.
Imagine how The Dizzle was feeling, putting all the power in my crazy Asian hands, amongst all the other crazy Asians on the road...
Too many crazy Asian drivers in this story.

...

Anyway, I'm off now.
I've got a cold coming on and it's fogging my head {clearly, with my random blog post},
so it's bed and movies time for me.
But I am going to leave you in good hands!

Heidi has done it again. A hilarious post that I know you'll all love!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh heeeeeey, it's me again, Heidi from Row House 14. I like to do this thing called taking over Mish's blog. And by taking over, I mean writing two blogs posts-- this one you are currently reading and this one you should read in case you missed it the last time.

Today I'm here to talk to you about two very important things. 1) New Year's resolutions and 2) Valentine's Day. I don't know about you, but I try to set New Year's goals instead of resolutions because I'm not very good at keeping my resolutions. Goals keep me on track knowing that if I'm making some progress I'm still doing ok even if I'm not meeting them 100% of the time. But if I had to make New Year's resolutions, I think they'd sort of go like this.

1. Make crazier faces when I'm rock climbing. Seriously, Mish and V-Dizzle do it so well, but I'm not as good at it.

2. Stop the baseball game Instagram addiction madness. While Mish is not a fan of baseball, I like to go to lots of baseball games here in Baltimore. And I like to Instagram every game I go to. Maybe a little too much. Like this time.
And this time.
And this time.
And then there was this game.
And this one.
And just one more, I promise.
Ok, wait, I was kidding.
And kidding again.

Seriously, I have a problem people!! And now you're not going to want to be my friend because you think I'm a baseball game Instagram addict.  I need to resolve not to do this anymore and follow Mish's philosophy on baseball games more often.

3. Challenge Mish to a GIF showdown. She's got some pretty bad ass GIFs like this one.

But I think I could compete pretty well with this one.

Yup, that's right. Mish might be able to make GIFs with her regular camera, but I can make GIFs with my Instagram baseball photos. I really do have a problem. Again, just kidding. Or am I?

Now that I am sure you are thoroughly tired of baseball. I'll move on to item number two that I am here to talk to you about-- Valentine's Day. If you are lucky like me, you have an awesome fiance (or boyfriend or husband) that does an amazing job of not making dinner reservations, forgetting to buy flowers, or forgetting the day altogether. That's how awesome fiances handle these sorts of holidays. They're just awesome like that.

The even better news is that my sarcasm and cynicism of the holiday make for the perfect Valentine's Day cards. As you may have remembered from last time, I also happen to make super awesome greeting cards. And due to my wonderful fiance and my luck on Valentine's Day, I am able to come up with these gems.

However, I can always hope that my fiance will do a little better next time around when Valentine's Day creeps up again. So I always keep these on the back burner as well.

And there you have it, my friends! Seriously, the perfect cards for either scenario if you ask me.

As for now, I'll leave you alone and thank Mish one more time for putting up with me, but promise you'll come find me on twitter or facebook as well so we can be friends for life. And as always if you come to say hi on my blog, I promise to say hi back! Capeesh?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  1. Michelle!! That is terrifying. I feel like the "??" food is even scarier than the bugs and feet lol I sometimes have to wonder though, how crazy do Americans look to these people, when we are drinking Starbucks and eating Arbys lol

  2. haha I can't wait to go meet Heidi properly - she's awesome. thanks for the introduction!

but also: when Jon did his gap year - 8 months teaching/traveling around South East Asia - he went a big wild on both the bug front and the bike front. basically, it means that I'll never catch up to his badassery in those areas. which is good, because I have no desire to try.

  5. Those cards are super adorable. But you know what's not adorable? Those "food" photos you posted up there. I don't think it has anything to do with being adventurous or not. I consider myself pretty adventurous but there's no way in hell I would eat any of that ... because I'm not insane!
