I woke up to this view today and it instantly made me feel good.
And on top of that, I woke up before my alarm even went off.
That never happens, people. Like, ever.
{So, naturally, The Dizzle and I both had to grab our phones and snap a picture of the exact same view, at the exact same time, to then post on Instagram. - His IG is: @vdiggity in case you cared to compare -
Because obviously, everyone else must enjoy this view as well.
Technology is taking over our lives!}
Anyway.
In addition to the great start of my morning, I would also like to say that I went to the gym last night for the first time in two weeks.
My favorite Zumba teacher was teaching, so I finally got my lazy ass there.
And you know what happened?
A Zumba Battle.
Have you ever heard of such a crazy thing? ...Me either.
But basically, you separate into two groups, with each group facing each other.
Then someone from each group will come out and do a dance move and then it's the other group's turn to "battle" it.
You with me?
Let me tell you, with how much nervous energy and anxiety was flowing in that room, it might as well have been a major Dance Off, not unlike the one below:
NO ONE wanted to volunteer to go in the middle and shake their tail feathers!!
So the poor Zumba teacher keeps getting in the middle and struttin' her stuff, while the rest of us are two-stepping side to side and clapping our hands in a really awkward way.
But then.
This old grandma lady goes out into the middle and does something resembling the funky chicken and that's when I knew what I had to do...
I had to go in the middle, myself.
I couldn't leave my battle group hanging!!
So before I had time to change my mind, I run into the middle, and I do something that I can barely remember because I think I blacked out for a second.
But I'm pretty sure it looked a little something like this.
Both parts creepy and lame.
After I realized what I was doing, I got embarrassed and quickly ran out of the middle.
So yeah, Zumba Battle. Pretty sure I shouldn't be allowed to compete after last night.
...
Happy Friday, everyone!
xoxo

Ha this is hilarious. I would be mortified and probably walk out of the class. I like the structure of a routine dance and not freestyle.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha - props for even getting in the middle. I would have been somewhere near the back staring at the ground as to not make any eye contact.
ReplyDeleteBahahaha, that image is hilarious! Sounds like it may be another 2 weeks or so before you try out Zumba again. Thanks for making my Friday just a wee bit better. :)

san diego has had some good sky lately. and i would never be able to go in the middle of everyone and dance. you're brave!
ReplyDeleteHahaha - you had to win the battle with those moves.
ReplyDeleteLOL. The visual is killing me. Hey you shake your tailfeather if you want to. Everyone else can deal.

This just made me laugh out loud. I LOVE it. I also love that you said you may have blacked out for a second, because that's what happens to me whenever I do something mildly inappropriate. Love! Hope you have a wonderful weekend xo
ReplyDeleteLMFAO! you have made my day girlfriend! haha! wow this is hilarious! I'm so glad you got in the middle and wrecked it lol!
ReplyDeleteahaha awesome! Well done :)

Haha good for you for putting yourself out there! I'd love to try Zumba, but I'm too embarrassed/sober to do it. One day I'll work up the courage to check out a class...or I'll save up the money for the Kinect version so I can hide out in my house and try it.
ReplyDeleteLOL we did a Zumba battle in my class once too.... imagine like 20 older white ladies trying to figure out how to shake their butts. HILARIOUS.
ReplyDeleteBahaha!! I probably would have done the exact same move and felt the same way afterwards. Dying out laughing! And this is why I do Zumba in the comfort of my own living room.
ReplyDeleteHahaha omg absolutely hilarious! I took Zumba Toning the other night, I'm so sore!
ReplyDeleteYou know what would make zumba battles infinitely more appealing? Zumba battles after consuming adult beverages. I would totally be down for that!
ReplyDeleteI envision this going a little bit a la white girl Sara in Save the Last Dance. I imagine it ended better than it did for her, awkward tail shaking and all. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!!! And yes, I can picture it :)
ReplyDeleteOh my glob. I am literally knee slapping at the thought of you doing that dance move. Like seriously, dying over here. Officially my favorite post in the history of blogs ever.
ReplyDeletelol. hilarious. oh yes, ive witnessed the zumba battle before.. too much fun though, right?
ReplyDeletei absolutely love zumba and yes i in fact have been a part of a zumba battle. i was certainly not as brave as you though! you go girl!

I am such a chicken shit. I would be so embarrassed. I seriously would have to leave. I'm lame.
ReplyDeleteI am simultaneously grossed out and mesmerized by that chick's ass dancing. And props to you for going out in the middle and owning it, I definitely can't do it!
ReplyDeleteIn the immortal words of Chris Farley (RIP), "I've seen a lotta things in my life, but that. is. AWESOME." There is no shame in the ass wiggle.
ReplyDeletehaha ! Too great. You should feel great about it, no one has the confidence to do that stuff. I personally am lame and would have just stood on the side. I think it's LESS embarassing to show you're not afraid to get out there!
ReplyDeleteAhahahahaha. Way to goo! I am too much of a wallpaper and would never have had the guts to do that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view! We have been having such nice weather in SoCal! But I'm ready for it to cool down!
ReplyDeleteHA! Well done you! (she says, as a firm believer in standing on the sidelines...)
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I'd be too afraid to go in. I'm sure your booty shake was awesome.
ReplyDeleteHi. I wanted to say that after reading your blog, I too got the battle bug and this past Monday went into battle myself and danced. I am a wickedly shy person so going out like that is a real stretch for me. I too dont remember a thing about what I did other then I kept hearing my friends cheering me on so I just kept going. I found that once you get past the fear and just do it its fun. Thanks for sharing your story.
ReplyDeleteLmao! You owned that grandma, for sure! :)
