So if you can recall from my last post, I mentioned that it's extremely hard to surprise me.
I somehow always, and I mean always find a way to ruin it.
Annndddd this surprise day date was no exception. I know, I know. I'm horrible.
...
Here's how it went down.
All week The Dizz had a surprise planned for me. He wouldn't give me any hints; just said to be ready by 10:30am on Sunday. Great. Awesome. I love surprises. Bring.It.On.
On Saturday, as we were leaving the fair, famished, we decided on a place to go eat.
So in my state of starvation, not thinking clearly, I grabbed his phone and said, I'll look on the map for directions. I don't know why I didn't just use my phone. But like I said, I wasn't thinking.
I pulled up the map app on his iPhone and saw his latest search still there.
Directions to: Temecula.
Huh? Temecula? Why would he want to know.....GASP!
He wants to take me wine tasting!!!
Followed by my very loud gasp, I said in a very small voice, "I think I just ruined the surprise..."
And let me tell you, The Dizzle's look of disappointment could have crushed a hundred hearts.
He was not a happy camper to hear about my discovery...
Yep, another surprise ruined by yours truly.
But nonetheless, we had an amazing Sunday up in the Temecula Wine Country.
He reserved a wine tour at one of the local wineries and I got to learn more about wine than I even knew existed. We then visited a few more wineries and drank to our heart's content.
I even had the Asian glow to prove it.
...
I tell ya, that man sure knows the way to my heart.
{And if you're thinking it's with alcohol, well then you'd be partially right.}

Ahh, looks like a wicked day out regardless! Wine and sunshine always equals success.
ReplyDeleteAw, poor guy! I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves sans surprise! (By the way, that dress is really cute!)
ReplyDeleteAwww sweet sweet guy. My hubby alwasy ruins all the surprises I have in store and Im jealous you have that talent too. Looks like you had an amazing time!
ReplyDeleteMy parents live about 5 minutes from the wineries :) They pretty much eat at a different one every Friday night, haha. Which ones did you go to? It looks like maybe South Coast?
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I'm a new follower, and let me just say you're gorgeous! Looking forward to reading more, you guys are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm horrible at always ruining surprises, too. BUT I'm glad y'all had a good time! I swear, you two are the best looking couple I've ever seen. Too bad there's no such thing as the Mr. & Miss America pageant. Y'all would totally win the couple award, haha.
ReplyDeleteTemecula wine tasting is so much fun! YAY!
ReplyDeleteBut how sad for him that you ruined the surprise. :-( Haha!
Happy Monday, Mish!
How fun! I love wine tasting and we go about every 3rd weekend or so. It is just a great daytime activity! Love that dress too.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I know exactly what you mean--I am always ruining the surprises too. Ha!
ReplyDeleteBUT, look at it this way. It was STILL a surprise, just a surprise when you looked at the phone instead of when you arrived, right?! Silver lining.
Sounds so fun! He's a good one!
AH so sad that it got spoiled, but I'm glad you still had fun! We went to Temecula the day after my sister's wedding; I was 16, so it wasn't that fun for me. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteway to ruin the surprise! ;) How sweet of him to take you wine tasting. The two of you loo great!
ReplyDeleteAww...it's the thought that counts I suppose! You guys look cute together and I love your dress.

OH NO! I was out of town last week and missed the button swap opportunity. Too late?
ReplyDeletePoor guy~
ReplyDeleteHaha I had a feeling somehow you would figure it out, I always manage to ruin a surprise too without planning it! That's sweet of V Dizzle regardless. Bravo man.
ReplyDeleteEvani
You were still surprised... just earlier than he wanted. I love wine tasting and if I ever run into you at a winery, I am going to steal that dress.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, that is too funny! It happens every time! I have the same problem with my husband. I want so badly to be surprised, but I figure it out EVERY DARN TIME.
ReplyDeleteI love your dress!
This is ridiculously cute! You could have at least pretended to be surprised...Oh, wait. No you couldn't ;-) Glad you had fun anyway!
ReplyDeleteI'm awful with surprises too! They make me nervous and I always end up so stressed that I ruin it. I told my husband he can't tell me there's a surprise, just surprise me. Otherwise it does not end well.
ReplyDeleteBut you two, you're adorable!

Oooh, that's a pretty vineyard! Good job, V-Dizzle, even if it didn't turn out to be quite the surprise he had hoped for!
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww That is so awesome!!!! Cute dress btw!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful winery! It's ok you accidentally ruin surprises. I do too. Happy 1 year!
