- When your Friday night consists of a nap at 8pm. Then, a walk to 7-11 for some popcorn and candy for your movie night with your boo, to which you promptly fall asleep on the couch about 3/4 of the way in.......all before midnight?
- When you wake up before 10am Saturday morning, hangover-free, and excitedly walk to the new grand opening of the Grocery Outlet {hello, low prices!} to get ingredients for Mancakes. Which, P.S. The Dizzle could not stop ranting and raving. And people, I am not a cook. So this was pretty amazing that I successfully did this.
- When Saturday night, you're the only 2 sober ones at the bar, drinking water, and analyzing the different levels of drunkards around you...and in my case, being slightly jealous? But look how much FUN V Dizzle is having. So.Much.FUUUUN.
- When your "Sunday Funday" consists of 26 loads of laundry, 2 loads of dishes, 47 episodes of The Office, a little rooftop lounging, and a large pizza to share?
I'm sure if we had incorporated alcohol over the weekend, some of these activities would not have happened. Or if they did, the memory of them would be blurry.
But, you know what?
But, you know what?
Sober or domesticated - - I enjoyed it all.
Even if only water was being had, at least my Boo was right there with me.
Am I right, or am I right?
xoxo

Hmmm - this sounds shockingly similar to my life. (Although with the addition of a beer or a glad of wine here and there.)
ReplyDeleteSounds like my weekends! We watch so much of The Office since we dont have american cable. Hulu plus to the rescue! Looks like you guys had fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks fun! I'll have to try the mancakes sometime...I'm not a cook either!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are rocking the sober life! Mancakes? Did I miss the recipe?
ReplyDeletethe way i see it is now you can use the drink calories for things like candy and popcorn. i like it.

ReplyDeleteoooh mancakes, i must check this out!
ReplyDeleteway to stick to your promise, alcohol-free weekends are hard! although the older i get the worse my hangovers get.. so sometimes a sober weekend is much more fun (and definitely more productive!)

ReplyDeleterooftop lounging and mancakes! Stay strong with the booze ban!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, this sounds like my life on the reg. I don't drink a ton, and generally I'm asleep by 11 on Friday nights.
ReplyDeleteI'm wild. I know.
I love your outlook!!
ReplyDeletei think this is a great idea. to not only do this with your significant other so you have someone to enjoy/suffer with, but you kind of get a sense of things that you like outside of alcohol and do things that you might not have done if alcohol was involved. i'm going to have to add this to my list or things to do.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a pretty great weeekend to me! You two are so cute!

Hope your bodies feel better too, ya know, healthier. But a lil alcohol is good for the heart, so they say.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like an awesome weekend to me! As much as I used to like drinking, waking up hangover free is always nice!
ReplyDeleteBeyond too cute of a weekend gone so rite with someone you truly love!
ReplyDeleteNew Follower!! And I totally relate to this post! My boyfriend and I always joke about being old people as we fall asleep at 9pm watching a movie, or have to wake up at 7 so we go to bed at 9 :) Loved this! SO excited to keep reading, stop over and say hi sometime! Dailypolkadots.com

sometimes the most amusing nights are the ones where you are sober and can watch everyone else making a fool of themselves!
ReplyDeleteI gotta try those Mancakes, anything involving bacon my husband is all over.
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you, you kinda inspired me - we're going 19 days without booze. This of course is in preparation for Vegas, where we will make up for all 19 days in the course of 48 hours, but at least I won't feel bloated when I get there :)
thats when you have to venture out into the world of virgin drinks! i don't think i could resist something with a pretty color - but it wouldn't have to have alcohol in it :)
ReplyDeleteCUTEST BLOG POST EVERRRRRRRR.
ReplyDeleteI WISH I had been the sober one at the bar Saturday. Sunday wasn't so fun for me...might have to follow suit with you on the no drinking policy.
