So several months ago, V Dizzle and I watched a documentary called The Cove.
Which was basically 92 minutes of a dolphin bloodbath.
Brutal.
Once the documentary ended and as I was wiping the tears that had been streaming down my face,
I vowed to never visit Sea World again!
Those poor dolphins with perma-smiles on their faces but really are just crying salty tears of sorrow!
We must fly to Japan at once and set.them.FREE!
...
And then remember how I ran that marathon?
Well, it turns out they thought running 26.2 miles deserved a free ticket to Sea World to use for the month of June. And it also turns out that I really love free things.
Aaannd that I can't deny my love for Sea World and those cute little animals trapped living in small pools of water.
Plus, I mean, they just opened a new ride there called Manta Roller.
How could you not be enticed?
And I'm pretty sure I've never heard of a roller coaster that killed a dolphin.
So yeah...we're going alright?!
We're going tomorrow and we're going to be first in line at the Dolphin Discovery show!
...
Go ahead...judge me. I know I am.
See? Here's my judging face:
...

The Cove is BRUTAL. Ugh. I should never have watched that. It is burned in my brain.
ReplyDeleteI've got the cove on instant que, but I can't bring myself to watch.. I think the dolphins are pretty well cared for at sea world, so I don't judge you. I mean they seem happy, right?
ReplyDeletei loves your bun today. come and show it to me in person soon. mmm, k?
ReplyDeleteI love Sea World. Mostly because my nieces loved it and when we went they were all OMG AMINALS! And it's free, so you clearly have to go.
ReplyDeletethe cove, the cove what an intense movie. Girl but not judgment you have a blast at sea world! take lots of pictures!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get through The Cove, so sad =(
ReplyDeleteBut I don't think that just because you're going to Sea World that you support dolphin killing :) I'm pretty sure the dolphins there are pretty well taken care of.
no judging. I can't even bring myself to watch the Cove. And as far as I know, roller coasters are pretty anti dolphin-killing, so you're good :) [Treasure Tromp]
ReplyDeleteThat movie was so disturbing.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at Sea World!
I never saw the cove. I'm sure it's worse in Japan with all the whale and tuna fishing than it is in Sea World. Those animals are cared for and just remember, even if you set them free, they prolly wouldn't survive in the wild. So don’t do that to them ;). Have fun at Sea World! I'm not judging. I watched Fast Food Nation and Supersize Me, vowed never to eat McDs again, and….eat it still.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh that movie was hard to watch! After I saw it I said I'd never go to Sea World again either. Truth though, give me a free ticket and I'd be there too! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteLol I'm not gonna lie, I'm judging you a little. The Cove broke my heart. But hey free is free so I can't knock it.

Have a good time! The Cove broke my heart... I'm a vegetarian, and can never understand how anyone can be so brutal to animals. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteThe Cove is so sad!! Damn Japanese~ Sea World = American Cove!! Have fun a sea world~ Say hi to flipper for me~ hahahaha
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the animals at Sea World are clones and have no feelings. You're totally good.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog via my sister, empirically erin. So excited to be reading!
ReplyDeleteI'm not brave enough to watch the Cove. I'm pretty sure I would have nightmares for months.
ReplyDeleteThere's no shame or judging in loving Sea World. There is a lot of shame and judging in letting free things go to waste.
I DON'T BLAME YOU FOR FEELING GUILTY! Heck, I worked and performed there, and I see a lot of evil in it now.
ReplyDeleteAnd for the record, cheers to you for watching The Cove. It makes me really sad when people purposely turn away from true information because they "just don't want to see that" or would "rather not know".
PEOPLE, knowledge is power. I'm just sayin'!
But... I do hope you had fun!
Just found your blog and I've decided I love your face. Hope that's okay.
