Palm Springs - Part 3 (Final one, I promise)

On our last night there, The Dizz and I decided to (finally) shower,
put something nice on and get gussied up for a dinner date out.

We headed over to the JW Marriott.
Which, if any of you watched Saved By The Bell,
{and I'm assuming you're all cool enough to say you did}
then you'll remember the Palm Springs episodes that were filmed at this very same hotel.

However, fast forward 20 years (wow, that totally aged me right there),
remove the 1990's zeal,
and it looks more like this now:

{via}
You walk into the main lobby,
and they have this little boat that takes you over to the restaurant.
My family and I have been coming here since I was little,
but V-Dizzle has never been so I wanted him to experience the greatness.

After the 5 minute cruise,
we arrived at the Mikado.
Which, to be honest, is basically like an upscale Benihana.
They cook in front of you,
throw their knives around,
and make enormous flames appear.
After seeing the same "tricks" about 20 times, it sort of loses its pizzazz,
but nonetheless, it's still a really good time and I highly recommend it.
And my oh my, the food kicks Benihana's ass in that department.

I would have to say my favorite part would be watching The Dizz
catch nine pieces of shrimp in his mouth.
Yes, nine.
{P.S. Please ignore the man-like laughs that are coming from the girl recording.
And also take note of the small boy in the background enthusiastically counting each piece caught.}

I politely declined when the chef offered to throw one my way.
Me + Catching things in my mouth don't go over so well.
{cue inappropriate joke.}

And that's all folks.
I hope you all have a very happy Wednesday!

V-Dizz is off to Vegas for the rest of the week
to go take care of his Pops who just had knee surgery.
So I'll be home...doing girly things and the like.

XOXO

  4. I'm so upset that I'm at work right now and cannot watch that video! I've never been to this hotel, nor did I know that it's the same place that those episodes of Saved By the Bell were filmed! Definitely going to have to check it out the next time I'm in PS.

  7. I am IMPRESSED. I'd probably end up chipping a tooth or choking if I tried to catch shrimp in my mouth.
